PTA COMMITTEE CHAIRS:
After School Arts Program (ASAP): Suzanne Brown 788-7566 email
ASAP classes are Mondays 3:15-4:45 - September 22nd through October 27th . There will be an evening ASAP Arts Open House on Tuesday, October 28th for students to showcase their ASAP achievements for families and friends.
Art Docent: Nancy Coba 788-4004 & Denise Nicholson 891-5258 email
The Art Docent Program is a Northshore District/PTA-sponsored in-class arts education program staffed by parent volunteers. Curriculum and training are provided.
No prior arts experience is needed.
Audit Committee: Wendy McNamarra, Anne Falcon and Wendy Coulombe
This three member committee reviews and issues a report on the PTA financial books twice yearly - once in February and once in July.

Classic Books: Julie Amer 939-0687 email
This book club for children in grades 3 through 6 provides opportunities for elementary students to discuss literature in small groups, with parent volunteers, during recess. Volunteers are trained to prepare questions and maintain active discussions.

Volunteers will work with the Chairs to update the crisis box and emergency preparedness procedures in conjunction with the East Ridge staff.

The Chair is responsible for gathering photos from East Ridge families in order to create the annual Yearbook and DVD.

Responsible for organizing the refreshments for the first day of school Welcome Back Coffee as well as for the PTA Program Nights throughout the year. Volunteers help by providing food items and assisting in set-up and clean-up after the event.

The yearly Ice Cream Social is usually held in the spring during the East Ridge Learning Celebration.

Membership is available to individuals for $12 or couples for $20 through "Registration". The Membership Chair promotes PTA at East Ridge and handles the registration of members with the local and state PTA offices.

Popcorn is $.25 per bag and will be availalbe on Friday Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 14, Dec. 19, Jan. 23, Feb. 27, Mar. 27, Apr. 24, May 22, and June 12.

For 2008-2009, the theme is "Wow!" Categories of art accepted in the program are: Visual Art, Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance/Choreography and Film/Video Production.

The School Play Chair is responsible for managing the budget, volunteers, and overall production of the School Play.

Three Bees will be held on Wednesdays in January. 1st & 2nd Grade Bee - January 14th, 3rd & 4th Grade Bee - January 21st, 5th & 6th Grade Bee - January 18th. More information will be available later this year.

Spring Dance chair organizes the East Ridge Spring Dance, which usually takes place at Timbercrest Junior High in April.
